In maart 1997 is tramlijn 20 in het leven geroepen. Zeven dagen per week, elke tien minuten, van 9.00 tot 19.00 uur. Een kleine boog makend rijdt hij van het Centraal Station aan de oostzijde naar de Dam, Muntplein, Waterlooplein en Artis en verder met een grote boog over de Sarphatistraat, Van Woustraat (Albert Cuyp markt), Ceintuurbaan, Museumplein, Leidseplein, Marnixstraat, Rozengracht (Westerkerk) en Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal terug naar het Centraal Station westzijde. En dan weer in omgekeerde richting. Na ruim vijf jaar is deze Amsterdamse openbaar vervoersservice gestopt.

In March 1997 tramline 20 is put into service. Seven days a week, every ten minutes, from 9.00 till 19.00 o'clock. Making a small curve riding from the Central Station on the east side to the Dam, Muntplein, Waterlooplein and Artis and further on with a large curve over the Sarphatistraat, Van Woustraat (Albert Cuyp market), Ceintuurbaan, Museumplein, Leidseplein, Marnixstraat, Rozengracht (Ann Frank house) and Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal back to Central Station on the west side. And than back again in the opposite direction. After more than five years this Amsterdam public transportation service has been stopped.
