Op 6 mei 2002 werd politicus Pim Fortuyn vermoord. Twee dagen eerder, op Herdenkingsdag, was de kranslegging door koningin Beatrix aan de voet van het Nationaal Monument op de Dam in Amsterdam. Deze kransen vormden een paar dagen later de achtergrond van de herdenking van Pim Fortuyn op de Dam. Bloemen, berichten en andere persoonlijke uitingen werden bij het Nationaal Monument op de Dam neergelegd, op gepaste afstand van de kransen en bloemen van de eerdere Herdenkingsdag. Ik heb de namen en handtekening op de foto's verwijderd.

Politician Pim Fortuyn was assassinated on May 6th 2002. Two days earlier, on Remembrance day, queen Beatrix layed wreaths at the foot of the National War Memorial on the Dam in Amsterdam. These large wreaths formed a few days later the backdrop to the public tributes to Pim Fortuin placed by the public in Amsterdam. People put flowers, messages and other personal expressions at the Monument on the Dam, with a appropriate distance from the wreathes and flowers of the earlier Remembrance Day. I have removed the names or signatures from the images before placing them here.
